The 59th Dom International Fair, GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre, March 4 – 8
From the 4th to the 8th of March, the largest international construction fair in the region – the 59th Home Fair will be held at the GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre (GR). For five days, 505 companies from 29 countries will be presenting services and products; systems solutions and advanced technologies for home, construction and energy efficient joinery; heating and cooling equipment, interior design, landscaping and facility protection. The event on the exhibition grounds is going to be accompanied by free consultations and lectures by independent experts from the ZRMK Building and Civil Engineering Institute and the ENSVET Network – Eco Fund.
The largest fair of the GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre is occupying all the existing halls of the GR and also three recently temporarily put up ones. Around 55,000 visitors are expected, as many as in the recent years, so to avoid potential waiting in the crowd, visitors are invited to buy tickets online; and with an online ticket, they also have a free LPP bus ride to the showground and back. The discounted Happy Hour tickets are available throughout the fair.
All about Construction and Renovating Buildings
At ZRMK Building and Civil Engineering Institute, they have prepared a program that provides visitors with information about what novelties await us in the future. It helps to resolve the dilemmas and problems encountered in construction or renovation, as well as information and advice on what to look out for when choosing an architect or contractor.
Traditionally, free and independent expert advice and lectures by architects, geomechanics, statics, construction physicists and other experts are available to all interested parties, as well as showing examples of good practice. Small exhibitions include heating and ventilation systems, methods of eliminating moisture in structures, several types of thermal insulation, windows and modern window installation, methods of construction (prefabricated and masonry houses), and winners of the Certificate of Quality in Construction, an important instrument for quality assurance in construction sector.
The Energy Advisers of the ENSVET – Eco Fund will inform visitors in one-hour lectures about this year’s loans and non-repayable financial incentives of the Eco Fund and about the following areas:
- A Construction of a House from Planning to Moving in: A Masonry or a Prefabricated House; Construction Failure Cases and Good Practice Examples; A Smart Home – How Smart Should Your Home Be?; A Construction of a Modern sNES (almost zero energy) House and a Price Comparison of Construction Systems; Construction of a New Massive House;
- A Complete Renovation of a House and the Subsidies from the Eco Fund;
- Adequate Ventilation of Buildings and Ventilation Equipment with Heat Recovery;
- Solar Power Plants and the Installation of a Heat Pump;
- Modern Wood Biomass Heating or with Renewable Energy Sources.
The fair is open Wednesday to Saturday, 10am to 7pm, Sunday to 6pm.
